Massé World’s Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) Program is a high-impact health initiative developed in partnership with the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) to strengthen prevention, early detection, and community-wide response to life-threatening diseases affecting vulnerable populations across Africa. This collaborative program unites Massé World’s grassroots health-access model with ALMA’s continental leadership network to accelerate progress toward malaria elimination and reduce the burden of NTDs in underserved communities.
Our Mission
To save lives and improve community health by expanding education, prevention, and treatment access for malaria and NTDs, with a special focus on children, women, and medically vulnerable groups—including individuals with albinism.
Why This Work Matters
Malaria remains one of Africa’s leading causes of preventable death, disproportionately affecting children under five. NTDs—such as river blindness, lymphatic filariasis, and bilharzia—continue to trap millions in cycles of disability and poverty.
For individuals with albinism, medical vulnerability is even higher due to weakened immune responses, limited access to care, and high exposure to environmental risks.
This partnership bridges the gap. Together with ALMA, Massé World is expanding lifesaving access, strengthening community resilience, and supporting Africa’s commitment to eliminating malaria and NTDs.
Program Pillars
Prevention and Community Education
Awareness campaigns on malaria and NTD transmission Training families on mosquito-bite prevention, hygiene, and protective behaviors School-based education for children to strengthen early prevention habits
Access to Tools and Treatment
Distribution of long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (LLINs) Support for malaria testing and referral for timely treatment Community-level assistance for early detection and management of NTD symptoms
Strengthening Local Health Systems
Collaboration with ALMA to support national and regional malaria response strategies Capacity building for frontline health workers Integration of community data into national malaria and NTD dashboards
Advocacy and Policy Support
Promoting pro-health policies through ALMA’s convening power Ensuring vulnerable populations are represented in national disease-control strategies Supporting resource mobilization for malaria and NTD elimination efforts
How You Can Support
Your contribution helps deliver mosquito nets, testing, treatment, and community education to the people who need it most.
