Florence Okonkwo was born in Nigeria where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology and Mining from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT Nigeria. She then moved to England where she earned a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from Northampton University, before moving back to Nigeria to attend Law school at the Nigerian Law School Abuja.
While in law school, Florence served as a court intern of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja; She also served as a legal intern in the Legal Office of Frank UYI Obeyabonar and Co. where she provided research based legal advice and recommendations to senior-level management in various high profile cases.
Upon completing law school and joining the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Florence moved to the United States and quickly joined the legal community. Leveraging on her legal background, Florence joined Corecivic, a company that owns and manages both private prisons and detention centers, and worked as a case manager where she conducted Strong-R interviews regularly on over 132 inmates in order to analyze their issues, evaluate their progress, social development and preparation for inmates/offenders, and recommended best practices for their improvement.
To further her career, Florence earned a Degree in Cybersecurity and Information
Security. While expanding her professional experiences as an information Security Risk Analyst, she led in the development of new technical projects for identification, measurement assessment, mitigation, reporting, monitoring, compliance and governance. Her proficiency in professional writing and documentation; excellency in verbal and written communication skills; knowledge and understanding of the latest security and privacy legislation, industry standards, and regulations; as well as her strong desire to build safer communities have facilitated Florence’s integration in the high profile industry of cyber security.
